06 The  Burning  City

Project Overview

Project Description 1666 — The Burning City is a cross-media XR educational project that brings the Great Fire of London to life. The experience begins with a 180-degree documentary-style film in modern London, enriched with historical imagery to establish context. Users are then transported into an interactive VR environment, where they can explore key locations such as Pudding Lane and witness the fire’s spread through immersive audio and environmental storytelling. By combining cinematic video with VR, the project offers both observation and participation, helping users gain a vivid and memorable understanding of history. This constructivist approach makes learning accessible, engaging, and unforgettable.
